Ingredients
- •8 slices ciabatta or Italian country bread (1-inch thick), lightly toasted on both sides
- •1 large garlic clove, halved
- •2 teaspoons capers
- •40 pitted black olives
- •½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- •8–10 fresh basil leaves
- •Pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper

Garlic rub: Rub the toasted bread slices with the cut side of the garlic. Set the garlic aside. Arrange the toast slices on a large serving platter.

Finish: Drizzle with the remaining olive oil, if desired. Tear the remaining basil leaves and sprinkle over the top as garnish.
